Finland's Nord Water Company has signed an agreement to supply two consignments of 700,000 bottles of water to Saudi Arabia. The first shipment is expected to arrive this winter, reported Helsingin Sanomat.
Nord Water is owned by the City of Helsinki., to be packed in half-liter and 1.5-liter bottles, is the same water that is pumped into homes in Helsinki, Finland. The source is Lake Päijänne, where water is collected and sent to the Pitkäkoski plant for purification.

Saudi Arabia's drinking needs are currently 70 percent met desalinized seawater. The Kingdom's desalination output exceeded one billion cubic meters in 2002. The Saudi government transports its desalinated water via a 2,500 kilometer pipeline network, 21 pumping stations, 131 depots and 10 stations for mixing the desalinated water with underground water. — (menareport.com)
