Yemen’s President Ali Abdullah Saleh reiterated his opposition to any U.S. strikes on Iraq Wednesday, while receiving Iraqi Vice President Taha Yassine Ramadan, one of a handful Iraq envoys lobbying Arab leaders after U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney's tour of the region.
"Yemen rejects any military strike against Iraq and calls for the lifting of the embargo," Saleh said, quoted by SABA news agency.
Ramadan delivered a message to Saleh from Iraqi President Saddam Hussein.
Ramadan, who had visited Sudan before coming to Yemen, said Monday the visits had the goal of discussing the status of the Palestinian uprising against Israel and international pressures on Iraq. (Albawaba.com)
