Al-Thawra daily on Tuesday expressed wonder over the reasons which push the United States to keep silent in light of Israel’s violations of hundreds of United Nations (UN) resolutions, at a moment it pretends that its Iraq which defies the will of the international organization.
In its first page editorial, the Syrian newspaper, cited by SANA, termed as a “strange contradiction” Washington’s pretension regarding its keenness on international legitimacy at a moment when it aides Israel to turn its back on to the will of the organization and the international community.
“Time has come for the international community to call (on) the US to work for safeguarding the international peace and to force Israel to implement the UN resolutions related to the Arab-Israeli conflict” the paper said.
On its part, the Tishrin daily called upon Iraq to keep alert and drop all chances for launching a war in the region for the domination of its resources.
In its first page editorial, the Syrian paper affirmed that the inspection team should contain Arab elements due to the importance and sensibility of this mission.
Furthermore, the paper urged the international community to work for forcing Israel, which constitutes the greatest danger in the region, into disarmament. (Albawaba.com)
