On Monday, Saudi Arabia's King Fahd firmly condemned "Israeli attacks and terror acts" against unarmed Palestinians, calling on the "free world" to intervene to stop the onslaught.

"The king expressed Saudi rejection and condemnation of attacks and terror acts by the Israeli government against the unarmed Palestinian people, as well as attempts to destroy their infrastructure," said Saudi Information Minister Fuad al-Faresi, quoted by the SPA news agency.

King Fahd, who was chairing a meeting of the Saudi cabinet, stressed the need for a "decisive international stand to halt the violent aggression by Israeli forces," Faresi said.

The situation "requires the intensification of efforts by the free world to ensure the safety of innocent civilians and provide security and protection from the grave Israeli aggression," he quoted the King as saying during the meeting.

The Saudi cabinet also reviewed discussions held by the king and Crown Prince Abdullah with world leaders who visited Saudi Arabia over the past few weeks to discuss Abdullah's initiative for Arab-Israeli peace, according to AFP.

The Saudi Prince, who has proposed full peace with Israel in exchange for full withdrawal from occupied Arab territories, plans to submit his offer for endorsement to the Arab summit, scheduled to take place in Beirut next week. (Albawaba.com)
