Russia’s Ambassador to Cairo on Wednesday said that Russian peace envoy Andrea Vedovin is to visit Egypt at the beginning of next week.
In statements made to the press, the Russian official said that the envoy would meet with high-ranking Egyptian officials, where they are to discuss the results of the quartet committee negotiations, according to Kuwait News Agency.
Moscow is focusing its efforts on pushing forth the Middle East peace process through the quartet committee, which includes representatives from Russia, the United Nations (UN), the European Union (EU) and the United States (US), the ambassador said. (Albawaba.com)
