Qatar has given the Palestinian Authority (PA) five million dollars, half the emergency aid it has earmarked to help the Palestinians cope with the consequences of the Israeli attacks, a Palestinian diplomat said in Doha Tuesday.
A check was handed by Qatar Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassem bin Jabr al-Thani to Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat when he visited him on Saturday in the West Bank city of Ramallah, where the he has been confined to by Israel, the diplomat said, according to AFP.
Israel Monday eased the three-month-old restrictions on Arafat, allowing him to travel inside the Palestinian territories. (Albawaba.com)
