The paternal uncle of the world’s most wanted fugitive, Osama bin Laden, and the patriarch of the suspected terrorist's family has died in the Saudi Muslim holy city of Medina, a relative has told AFP

Abdullah Awadh bin Laden, aged 75, died on March 21st and was buried in Medina, said the relative who refused to be named or to provide further details regarding "Osama's paternal uncle".

Osama bin Laden, blamed for the September 11 terror attacks on the United States, was stripped of his Saudi nationality in 1994 and his family claims they have no contact with him.

The bin Laden family owns one of Saudi Arabia's biggest building firms, Bin Laden Construction Group, and is well-connected with the Saudi kingdom's royal rulers. (Albawaba.com)
