Israel’s Defense Minister Binyamin Ben-Eliezer called Monday, to the Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak in order to update him on the difficult security situation.
Mubarak and Ben-Eliezer discussed the situation, and agreed to concentrate their efforts with the arrival to the region of US envoy General Anthony Zinni. Ben-Eliezer asked President Mubarak to exercise his full influence to stop the “terror” and violence, and to stabilize the situation.
Ben-Eliezer said that an opportunity has been created that must be taken advantage of to achieve a cease-fire and move on to the diplomatic process. (Albawaba.com)
