Spokesman for the Iranian government, Abdullah Ramadan Zadah described the situation in Palestine as "a humanitarian disaster with big countries participating in the Israeli aggression."
In the course of a visit to the Palestinian embassy in Tehran Wednesday, Zadah expressed his solidarity with the Palestinians saying, "international silence is itself a disaster" asserting that the Iranian government would "side with the Palestinian people as it always did."
Meanwhile, Palestinian ambassador to Iran, Salah Zawawi said, "the Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people is not something new, our people are familiar with these crimes". "The situation in Palestine is the US second phase of the war against terrorism, with their plan to eliminate the Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat, then Iraq will follow then Iran."
Moreover, spokesman for the Iran ministry of foreign affairs claimed that "the Israeli attacks on Islamic and Christian holy sites in Bethlehem is another proof of the Israeli brutality." The spokesman called the international community to take actions against the Israeli massacres calling upon the Security Council to take immediate action in this regard, according to KUNA.
