An Iranian woman found guilty of complicity to murder has survived her execution by stoning by managing to flee the hole she was buried in, a website reported on Tuesday.
According to the Islamic Republic's interpretation of Islamic law, men condemned to death by stoning are buried up to their hips while women are buried up to their chests.
If they manage to escape the burial before being pelted with small stones, they are free to go.
Such was the case for the woman in the city of Yazd, according to WomeninIran.com, who was condemned to die for complicity in the murder of her husband.
The report did not, however, state the name of the woman or say when the incident actually occurred. (Albawaba.com)
