Mohammed Bakkar, Head of the UAE Beit Al Khair Society, has proposed a higher council for domestic relief and emergency situations in the UAE which can take necessary steps in case of any emergency.
According to Gulf News, he urged public welfare and charitable organisations to incr-ease coordination among themselves and suggested that this higher council act under the instructions of the boards of these organisations. The need for such a council has been felt of late with many people badly affected by the recent tremors which jolted the UAE. (Albawaba.com)
