Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF) will launch a free abra or ferry service from Al Seef Street to the Global Village from Thursday in order to decrease traffic congestion on the roads leading to the popular site.
Ten abras are being deployed to deliver people from Al Seef Street to the Global Village through the Dubai Creek. The daily service is due to be operated from 4pm to midnight and each ferry will carry 18 passengers.
Hussain Ali Lootah, Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Shopping Festival 2002, said, "We decided to take this step to meet the demand of huge crowds that have been visiting Global Village everyday”, according to Khaleej Times.
"This is a free service that is being provided for the benefit of Dubai Shopping Festival visitors with the help of Dubai Police and Dubai Municipality", he added. (Albawaba.com)
