The Central Food Control Laboratory of Sharjah Municipality conducted tests in February on 831 food samples and 1,600 analysis on food companies and markets.
The analysis survey aimed at ensuring the high quality specifications of food products in line with the high standards and health level of food used by the public.
The monthly report issued by the laboratory showed that around 4.2 per cent of the total number of food samples were unfit for human consumption because they included microbiological and chemical substances, according to Khaleej Times.
Accordingly, the municipality issued warnings to 54 different food product producers and importers. (Albawaba.com)
