Egypt has recently completed a major ground military exercise near the Suez Canal.
The exercise was conducted by the Egyptian Third Army, which is deployed in the northeast part of the country. The maneuvers consisted of live fire by infantry and land platforms.
The final phase of the multi-stage maneuvers began last Wednesday, Egypt's official MENA news agency reported, saying the exercise was meant to train infantry combat skills.
The maneuvers reportedly included tanks, armored personnel carriers, artillery and anti-tank units, with the Egyptian army also providing air support in an exercise meant to simulate a ground offensive. (Albawaba.com)
