Dubai Police Chief to Be Honored at Ceremony

Major General Dhahi Khalfan Tamim, Dubai Police Chief, is to be honored during a ceremony on Tuesday for being chosen Arab Personality for the year 2001 in the field of Anti-Narcotics by the United Nations. 

 

The ceremony is organized under the patronage of Lieutenant General Dr. Mohammed bin Saeed Al Badi, Interior Minister at the Emirates Towers. 

 

Tamim will be honored in the presence of Major General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Undersecretary of the Interior Ministry, and Dr. Mahdi Ali, the Regional Representative of the Middle East and North Africa Bureau for Anti-Narcotics programs formed by the United Nations, according to Gulf News. 

 

A large number of leading figures from the country and outside are expected to participate in the event. During the ceremony, appreciation certificates are due to be handed out to distinguished members who played a vital role to control this menace, according to Gulf News

 

Policemen who participated in the campaign and helped capture and detain drug dealers and drug users are scheduled to also be awarded. (Albawaba.com)
