Dubai Crown Prince Visits Al Dhiyafa Road

Dubai Crown Prince and UAE Defense Minister General Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Thursday night toured Al Dhiyafa Road which from the onset of the Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF) has been transformed into a gallery and workshop for artists and sculptors, conveying the Festival, One World, One Family, One Festival theme. 

 

Leading artists and sculptors from Oman, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Egypt, Tunisia, Lebanon and Bahrain are displaying their works on that road. 

 

During his tour, Sheikh Mohammed admired an art wall measuring 12 by 1.6 meters made by the famous Lebanese artist Wajih Nahla and five artist members of his family. 

 

Furthermore, Sheikh Mohammed listened to a briefing from Nahla on the work which portraits solidarity of a family. Sheikh Mohammed stated that art is a humanitarian mission for love, coexistence and peace. 

 

"We should appreciate and respect all forms of arts because they express humanitarian aspect of the artist in particular and the nation in general." 

 

Sheikh Mohammed was accompanied by his son Sheikh Hamdan, Chief Executive Officer of Ports, Customs and Free Zones Corporation Sultan bin Sulayim and Chief Executive Officer of DSF Hussein Lootah, according to Gulf News. (Albawaba.com)
