A hunting dog stirred chaos at the Cairo international airport on Sunday when it fled from its plastic cage in the baggage hold of a plane which flew in from Italy, airport officials said.
The dog was one of eight belonging to a group of Italians who had flown to Egypt to hunt ducks in the oasis at Fayum, south of the capital Cairo, they said, according to AFP.
Airport employees formed a search party that took five hours to catch the dog, which dashed across the runway and into the terminal.
According to officials, the animal's 72-year-old owner refused to leave the airport without the dog. (Albawaba.com)
