The UAE and Cuba governments have decided to establish diplomatic relations at the level of ambassadors as of Monday, March 18, 2002.
A statement issued Monday in both capital cities of Abu Dhabi and Havana stated that the decision to establish diplomatic ties came in the context of the two countries joint keen desire to enrich and strengthen bilateral cooperation, according to Emirates News Agency.
Following Cuba, the United Arab Emirates currently has diplomatic relations with 145 countries. (Albawaba.com)
