Cyprus President Glafcos Clerides held an hour-long meeting Monday morning with his close advisers in anticipation of a meeting later on in the day with United Nations Secretary General's special adviser on Cyprus Alvaro de Soto, CNA reported.
According to the official agency, all indications show that de Soto will hand the President a UN blueprint on a solution to the Cyprus question.
The same document will be handed to the Turkish Cypriot side at the same time in New York, where Turkish Cypriot leader Rauf Denktash is recovering from heart surgery. In addition, the United Nations will also give the document to the permanent representatives to the UN of the three guarantor powers of Cyprus' independence, namely Britain, Greece and Turkey.
