The English 'Iran News' daily quoted Cypriot Ambassador to Tehran Satvros Loizides in Tehran Wednesday as having expressed his country's willingness to facilitate tourism between Iran and Cyprus amidst efforts to strengthen mutual relations.
Loizides described Tehran-Larnaca relations as 'excellent', and appreciated Iran's efforts to support Cyprus at the international level, particularly within the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC).
Moreover, he recalled the expected visit of Cypriot Minister of Finance Takis Clerides for talks on economic relations with Iran, as well as the future trip of Iranian Foreign Minister Kamal Kharrazi to Cyprus, and added that the exchange of official visits "demonstrates the existing high-level bilateral ties", according to IRNA.
