On Thursday, an explosion shattered windows of the Turkish embassy in a district of Sanaa where Yemeni intelligence has its headquarters, without causing injuries, witnesses said.

The blast, whose cause was not immediately known, "occurred at 8:15 pm (1715 GMT) near the Turkish embassy in the Hadda neighborhood (southwest of the capital) but there were no casualties," one witness told AFP

"The explosion shattered windows of the embassy, but no one inside was wounded," said an embassy guard who requested anonymity.

The headquarters of Yemeni intelligence is located in the same neighborhood. A police source, confirming the explosion, said police were sent to the scene to investigate the cause.

The road leading to the Turkish mission was closed off by police vehicles, one resident said. (Albawaba.com)
