Poets Jamal Al Shaqsi from Oman and the UAE's Yaqoub Al Shamsi will recite their works during the third and penultimate session of the traditional Arabic Poetry Convention on March 20, starting from 8.00 PM at the Sheikh Saeed Al Maktoum House in Shindagha.

Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, WAM reported, inaugurated the event organized by the Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing as part of the festivities for the ongoing DSF 2002.

“Traditional Arabic poetry in the UAE and the region has received a much needed boost as we have encouraged the poetic talents from the region and provided them with a forum to express their poetic verses and thereby heightened the understanding of traditional poetry,” said DTCM Director Operations and Marketing, Mohammed Khamis bin Hareb.
