Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, UAE President's wife and Chairwoman of the UAE Women's Federation, has received a message of thanks from Chairman of the Arab Family Organization (AFO), Jamal Al Bah.
Al Bah praised Sheikha Fatima's recent statement to AFP in which she called for a “dialogue of civilizations” between women throughout the Arab and Islamic worlds and their western counterparts in order to help bridge the gap, Gulf News reported.
"Dialogue is the best way of bringing the Arab-Islamic and western worlds closer. I don't think a 'clash of civilizations' would be in anyone's interest," she told AFP during an interview.
"Women leaders on both sides should organize forums for dialogue in order to rectify the image of the Arab-Islamic world ... That has been distorted and subjected to generalizations,” Sheikha Fatima had said.
"The AFO backs this trend and is ready to coordinate with the Women's Federation to organize a 'dialogue of civilizations' forum," Al Bah expressed. (Albawaba.com)
