The French architect Jean Nouvel said his design for the National Museum of Qatar was inspired by a desert rose. The Museum has been praised around the world. The museum opens with surprises at every turn. It is meant to reflect national identity for locals, is designed to tell the story of the country's history and its ambitions for the future.
Over 40 animals have been taken from the devastating conditions in a Gaza Strip zoo and moved to a reserve in Jordan using the help of Four Paws group. The group revealed that they have received the animals from the Rafah Zoo near the border with Egypt. Among the animals there were Lions, monkeys, peacocks and porcupines. Camels are considered a part of Emirati culture and tradition. It is for that Dubai opened a new hospital with state-of-the-art equipments specially for them. A $10.9 million (€9.21 million) camel hospital was unveiled in Al Marmoum, Dubai. Staff have been recruited to work at the hospital from the UK and Mexico. Mohamed Al Bulooshi, who is the hospital director, said: "There are a lot of equine hospitals because horses have existed for centuries as have their races but for camels, no."

Riders pave their way in a dusty track in order to pass a world record glory in the ancient sport of tent-pegging in the small Pakistani city of Tulamba. Riders in bright costumes drive their lances into the targets, wooden pegs embedded in the dry ground, their aim sometimes obscured by the dust kicked up by other competitors.
