Camels are considered a part of Emirati culture and tradition. It is for that Dubai opened a new hospital with state-of-the-art equipments specially for them. A $10.9 million (€9.21 million) camel hospital was unveiled in Al Marmoum, Dubai.

Staff have been recruited to work at the hospital from the UK and Mexico.

Mohamed Al Bulooshi, who is the hospital director, said: "There are a lot of equine hospitals because horses have existed for centuries as have their races but for camels, no."
