Fighting Rape-Culture: South African Students Get Lessons in Self-defense

As rape crimes are seen to be increasing rapidly in South Africa, girls, those who live in Soweto are learning how to defend themselves via program called 'Empowerment through Self-defence for Women and Girls'.

According to trainer Dimakatso Monokoli, "You are going to pretend that it is the rapist's testicles".
 
Official statistics in the country shows that over 110 rapes are recorded by the police every day.
