ALBAWABA - The four-day Electric Forest festival organizers found a dead newborn baby in a portable bathroom after a festival in Michigan.
Michigan state police said that the body of the infant was no older than four weeks, found in a portable bathroom of a camping area of the festival, where an employee of the portable bathroom vendor found the baby during routine maintenance.
“It causes us so much pain to have to share this difficult news with you,” Electric Forest festival organizers wrote online on Sunday night. Saying the organizers were “heartbroken”, the statement added: “Michigan state police continues to investigate this tragic event, if you can assist in any way.”
The police released a statement calling for anyone who has information to come forward,
“If you were in the area and observed anything unusual, or if you have information that you believe may be relevant, we encourage you to come forward,”
The statement also said: “We appreciate the public’s cooperation and ask that people avoid speculation on social media out of respect for the investigation and those affected.”
This is the first time something like this happens at an Electric Forest festival, as the festival has otherwise been successful in the past.
