The volume of smuggling in Yemen reached YR.70 billion ($437m), equivalent to 25 percent of the total volume of the legal trade.
Abdulla Al-Sunaidar, from the general federation of Yemeni chambers of commerce and industry was quoted by Yemen’s Observer as saying that “the phenomenon of smuggling affirms that the volume of smuggling increases year after year.”
