ALBAWABA - The US Army Central Command took to X to announce the striking of several Al-Qaeda affiliates called Hurras al-Din and ISIS sites in Syria, killing at least 37 militants.
"The airstrikes are part of CENTCOM's ongoing commitment, along with partners in the region, to disrupt and degrade efforts by terrorists to plan, organize, and conduct attacks against civilians and military personnel from the U.S., our allies, and our partners throughout the region and beyond," the statement reads.
According to the statement, US Central Command mentioned that the attacks happened on Sept. 16 and Sept. 24, adding that there is no information that any civilians were harmed in the strikes.
ABC news website reported that about 900 US forces in Syria added that their job is to ban the comeback of the ISIS extremist group, which swept through Iraq and Syria in 2014.
Furthermore, on the early hours of September 16, CENTCOM troops carried out a large-scale airstrike on a remote ISIS training camp in central Syria, killing at least 28 ISIS operatives, including four top officials.
The bombing will degrade ISIS' capacity to undertake operations against US interests, as well as our friends and partners.
"These strikes against leadership and operatives of ISIS and the Al Qaeda affiliate, Hurras al-Din, represent CENTCOM's commitment to the enduring defeat of terrorist organizations in the CENTCOM area of responsibility and our support to regional stability," said Gen. Michael Erik Kurilla, commander of United States Central Command.
