Co-hosts Canada secured a crushing 6-0 victory over Qatar in a match held at BC Place in Vancouver, as part of the second round of Group B fixtures at the 2026 World Cup.

The Qatari team completely collapsed in the first half, especially after Homam Ahmed received a straight red card in the 33rd minute, allowing the Canadian team to seize the opportunity and score a fest of goals.

Match Highlights and Goals

Qatar couldn't keep up with Canada right from the start. After a series of attacks, Cyle Larin opened the scoring in the 16th minute, before Jonathan David added a second in the 29th minute. Just a few minutes later, a Canadian forward broke clear on goal, forcing a foul from a Qatari defender who was sent off, leaving his team to play with 10 men for the rest of the game.

Jonathan David struck again to add the third goal in the third minute of first-half stoppage time. Canada then continued their goal fest in the second half, especially after Qatar received another blow when Assim Madibo was shown a red card in the 53rd minute.

In the 64th minute, Nathan Saliba netted a fourth goal, followed by an unfortunate own goal from Qatar's Mohammed Mannai in the 75th minute. Finally, Jonathan David end this goal-filled night by scoring the sixth goal, completing his brilliant hat-trick in the second minute of second-half stoppage time.
