Turkish authorities in the mainly Kurdish southeast arrested on Saturday two Kurdish activists on suspicion of links to armed separatist rebels, according to Anatolia news agency.
Faik Ayata, head of the local branch of the pro-Kurdish People's Democracy Party (HADEP), and his aide Ali Gunay were taken into custody after police searched the HADEP office in Siverek.
The operation resulted in the seizure of documents reportedly belonging to the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), which has waged a violent campaign for self-rule in southeast Turkey, and "banned" printed material, the news agency further said. (Albawaba.com)
