ALBAWABA - Barcelona star Lamine Yamal recently went viral after a video captured him waving the Palestinian flag while on board an open bus to celebrate the football team's 2025/26 La Liga title victory.
The 18-year-old football star waved the massive flag in front of thousands of people attending the celebrations in Barcelona, as videos of the event flooded social media. Yamal also took to Instagram with a Carousel post, capturing several snippets from the event and the solidarity moment.

Yamal's political stance comes in response to the ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza since Oct. 7, 2023, which resulted in the killing of over 72,000 Palestinians and the injuring of more than 172,000 others, including women and children, as reported by medical sources residing in the Strip, which added that many remain missing under the rubble.
On Sunday's El Clásico night, Barcelona defeated Real Madrid 2-0 thanks to Ferran Torres and Marcus Rashford, officially claiming their 29th La Liga title.
Yamal's solidarity drew positive reactions on social media, with many users praising the star for standing up for the Palestinian people. An internet user wrote on X (formerly Twitter), "This young man will go down in history, not only as a spectacular soccer player, but also as a great humanist. His act of solidarity and social awareness will inspire future generations. He earned galaxies of respect."
Another added, "Maybe it seems simple to some people, but it reaches our hearts here in a very deep way. Well done, Lamine. From Gaza, we love you."
