ALBAWABA - Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) announced on Monday to thwart a Ukrainian plan to chemical attack against the staff of a Russian defense industry enterprise in Yaroslavl City.

According to the FSB statement, the man who was arrested by authorities is a Russian citizen who was working for Kyiv. He planned to poison workers of the facility with toxic substances.

The suspect was detained by police after he received two containers with “dangerous chemicals,” the FSB claimed, adding that he plot was organized by Ukraine.

RT reported that the "substances can cause potentially fatal respiratory burns."

The Russian statement also indicated that the man wanted to place the chemicals inside the air ducts of vehicles of Russian defense industry enterprise employees.

"The 'terrorist’s activities' were coordinated from the territory of Ukraine via foreign internet messaging apps," the FSB added.
