ALBAWABA - Wynd Kaufmyn reports to serve 14 days in jail after a conviction tied to an AI protest was handed down to her.

The San Francisco woman participated in a protester blockade of OpenAI’s building in February 2025, defiant and undeterred she says the wrong person is behind bars.

Kaufmyn’s sentencing is held to be the first ever conviction handed down due to anti AI activity, moving the AI debate from social media into courts of law in the U.S.

The jury convicted Kaufmyn in June 2026 for the following charges:

  • Trespassing with intent to interfere with a business
  • Unlawful assembly
  • Refusal to disperse at a riot

Earning her a sentence of 14 days minus time served, coming to about a week behind bars her and her group StopAI had chained and locked OpenAI’s entrance during their protest yet she maintains that she’s “not the one that should be in jail,”
