Quake Hits Western Iran

An earthquake registering 4.2 on the Richter scale shook western Iran Saturday, reported Iran News Agency (IRNA), adding that it was not yet known whether there were any casualties or damage. 

On Friday, an earthquake measuring 5.0 on the Richter scale hit the Nurabad area in the southern province of Fars, said IRNA. 

Tremors with magnitudes of between five and six are felt over wide areas and can cause damage near the epicenter. 

Iran experiences earthquakes on almost daily basis, said the agency - Albawaba.com
