Putin Sends Message to Amman Summit

Russian President Vladimir Putin, has sent the Amman Arab Summit a message calling for the normalization of the situation in the Palestinian lands, the lifting of blockades, including the economic blockade around the West Bank and Gaza, and putting an end to violence, Novosti News Agency said. 

The Russian president believes that the peace negotiations should be resumed and should satisfy the legitimate rights of both parties including the right of Palestinians to establish their independent state. 

Putin’s message to the Arab leaders participating in Amman Arab Summit Conference said that Russia, as one of the co-sponsors of the Middle East process, is willing to make efforts in the future to achieve a comprehensive settlement for the Arab Israeli conflict including the preparation of a unique form of international assistance in these negotiations.  

Jordan’s foreign Minister Taleb Rifai, spokesman for the summit, said at a press conference held Tuesday afternoon that the Arabs hope that Russia reactivate its major role in the Mideast peace process – Albawaba.com
