OIC Welcomes Saudi Proposal

On Monday, the organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) welcomed the Saudi initiative recently floated by the Crown Prince and Deputy Prime Minister, Prince Abdullah bin Abdel Aziz. 

 

The OIC Secretary General, Abd Alwahed Belgaziz, said in a statement Monday that the initiative aims at establishing comprehensive peace in the Middle East and it has great opportunity for success particularly after the international and regional support, according to KUNA.  

 

He added that the initiative is in line with the Saudi principles of Islamic values and its support of the right of the Palestinian people. Belgaziz described the initiative as clear and comprehensive saying, it requires hard and serious work. 

 

Furthermore, he called on Washington to try and work on realizing aims of this initiative. The OIC secretary general also urged Israel to accept and implement the initiative in order to have peace and stability in the region. 

 

The Saudi initiative calls for full Israeli withdrawal from all Arab territories, occupied in the 1967 war. (Albawaba.com)
