On Saturday, Iranian Minister of the Interior Abdolvahed Mousavi Lari officially named Mohammad-Hassan Malekmadani as the new mayor of Tehran for four years.
Last Monday, Tehran City Council proposed Malekmadani, the former mayor of the central city of Isfahan, to replace Morteza Alviri as the mayor of the Iranian capital, according to IRNA.
The naming followed Alviri's resignation that was accepted by the City Council last month by a unanimous decision. (Albawaba.com)
