ALBAWABA - A statement by the Jordanian Armed Forces (JAF) announced that a "Grad rocket" had fallen in an unpopulated desert area in Al-muwaqqar, Amman.
Launched from Southern Lebanon, the rocket did not cause any human or materialistic damage, as the relevant authorities and specialized teams have been dispatched to the area.
The JAF advised civilians to depend on official sources for information and avoid spreading misinformation that might cause fear and turmoil, adding that the armed forces are still dedicated to protecting Jordan's airspace, land, and borders from any threats to its security and stability.
Earlier, the Southern Military Zone in its area of responsibility foiled a drone attempt to infiltrate Jordanian territory.
According to a source from the General Command of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF), Border Guards in the Southern Military Zone intercepted the drone attempting to enter the Kingdom, according to the Jordan News Agency in Petra.
Army forces followed the rules of engagement and shot down the drone within Jordanian territory. The drone was subsequently handed over to the appropriate authorities.
The source emphasized that the JAF takes a tough stance against any threats at the border fronts, as well as any attempts to undermine national security and terrorize residents.
