ALBAWABA - The Jordanian foreign ministry announced on Tuesday that the body of truck driver Maher Al Jazi, who shot dead three Israelis, was received by Jordan.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said that the body of Jordanian citizen Maher Al Jazi was received and will be handed over to his family to be buried.

The spokesperson for the ministry, Ambassador Sufyan Al-Qudah, added in a press statement that the ministry in coordination with the relevant authorities in Jordan, is continuing its efforts to release the Jordanian citizens Musleh Al-Awdat and Hussein Al-Naimat, who are still being held following the shooting incident on Sept. 8.

A shooting attack took place on the Palestinian side of the King Hussein Bridge (Allenby Bridge), which is controlled by Israel, on September 8 leaving three Israelis killed.

Maher Diyab Hussein Al Jazi, a truck driver from Jordan who originated in the Husayniya neighborhood of Ma'an governorate, was engaged in the shooting that took place on the other side of the bridge.

Magen David Adom (MDA) reported on Sept. 8 that three people were severely injured before they were announced dead minutes later.

The Israeli army announced that the shooter was identified as a Jordanian truck driver who entered from the border and opened fire killing three Israeli security men, before he was killed.
