An unemployed Lebanese father killed his three children and then himself because he could not support the family, press reports said Wednesday.
Atef al-Indara, 34, gunned down his 14-year-old son and two daughters aged 13 and eight in a wood before turning the weapon on himself.
Relatives issued a press statement saying Indara suffered from depression and had threatened to "relieve the suffering" of the children but he had not been taken seriously.
The economic crisis affecting Lebanon for more than three years has left many men unemployed and more than a third of the population below the poverty line, according to the United Nations – BEIRUT (AFP)
