An Israeli aircraft early Saturday destroyed a building in the northern Gaza Strip, the Israeli army said. There were no reports of casualties, Haaretz reported. Witnesses said the building suffered some damage.

In another attack on Saturday, Israeli artillery and navy ships targeted bombed Gaza City, Israel's Army Radio said. There were no injuries in this operation either.

Meanwhile, the new Hamas-led government held an emergency meeting Friday night after three people died in domestic clashes, vowing to end public displays of weapons in the Gaza Strip.

The meeting followed a day of unrest sparked by the death of Abu Yousef Abu Quka, a Palestinian activist, who died in a car bombing. His followers blamed security forces linked to Fatah movement.

Information Minister Yousef Rizka said the government decided to form a committee to investigate the killing. He also said the government pledged "to remove all arms from the street."

Earlier Friday, Palestinian Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh called for calm in Gaza, saying the Hamas-led cabinet would investigate Abu Quka's killing.

Haniyeh told Reuters that he asked his interior minister, Saeed Seyam, to conduct an immediate probe.
