STATEMENT FROM THE BAKIRKÖY PUBLIC PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE
The statement from the Bakırköy Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the matter is as follows:
"Within the scope of the fight against narcotics that threaten public health and safety, in investigations conducted by the Bakırköy Public Prosecutor's Office, and in operations recently carried out by our law enforcement forces and reflected in the public sphere, on the one hand, a large quantity of cocaine that was attempted to be smuggled into our country by sea from abroad was seized before it landed, and on the other hand, drug manufacturing locations were identified, and numerous drug dealers were arrested in different districts of Istanbul, and the seized narcotics and other items constituting a crime were confiscated.
In another investigation conducted by our Public Prosecutor's Office concerning individuals who facilitate, provide locations for, and use narcotics, as well as suspects involved in drug trafficking and manufacturing, based on the evidence obtained, the Istanbul Provincial Gendarmerie Command was ordered to detain, search, conduct biological examinations, and take statements from 25 suspects on May 21, 2026. "Instructions have been given for its acquisition."
