ALBAWABA - According to the Iranian News Agency IRNA, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and the International Atomic Energy Agency chief Rafael Grossi have met in Tehran.
Grossi landed in Tehran later on Wednesday and is set to hold talks with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, and Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran Mohammad Eslami later today.
"Hosting the International Atomic Energy Agency’s director general is a clear sign of the Islamic Republic of Iran's approach to continue cooperation with the agency based on commitments and obligations outlined in relevant international regulations and conventions," IRNA reported quoting the Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmail Baghaei.
He made the remarks as Rafael Grossi, the director general of the IAEA, arrived in Tehran to discuss unresolved safeguarding problems pertaining to Iran's nuclear energy program with high-ranking Iranian officials.
He went on to say that Iran anticipates the IAEA will continue its technical work and operate within the limits of its assigned responsibilities, "free from political maneuvering and pressure that certain member states may exert,".
