ALBAWABA- Tensions flared Tuesday in the Burj al-Barajneh Palestinian refugee camp on the southern outskirts of Beirut, where armed clashes forced shop closures, displaced families, and sent gunfire echoing across the capital.

Local sources said the violence stemmed from a long-running family dispute that escalated into firefights involving rockets and machine guns. A shell fired from inside the camp struck Beirut’s Airport Road, injuring one person.

The confrontations have pitted the “Democratic Reform Current,” reportedly backed by the UAE, against Fatah’s Security and Protection Battalion.

Residents have appealed for the Lebanese army to intervene, warning that the clashes are threatening civilian lives and fueling further displacement within the already vulnerable refugee community.
