Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmed Maher has brushed aside a local press report saying that he secretly met his Israeli counterpart, Shimon Peres, in Cyprus on August 31, reported the official Kuwaiti news agency (KUNA).
It quoted Maher as saying "there is no need for secret meetings with a foreign minister of a country with which we have diplomatic ties."
Al Akhbar newspaper said on Wednesday that the two foreign ministers met in Cyprus and discussed how to ease tension in the occupied Palestinian territories – Albawaba.com
