ALBAWABA - Pauline Hanson, the One Nation party leader, has sparked wide controversy in the Australian parliament after showing up wearing a burqa, a garment that is worn by some Muslim women to cover the body and the face fully.

Pauline Hanson pushed a bill in the Senate that would ban full-face coverings in Australia. However, other Australian lawmakers blocked her will, so she returned wearing a black burqa and sat down.

After the far-right Australian politician showed up wearing a burqa, Pauline Hanson was met by outrage from her fellow senators inside the parliament, who called her "racist", and the session was suspended.

Australian Senator Babet posted an image of Hanson in a burqa and wrote a caption, "Wild scenes in the Senate today. Senator Hanson tried to introduce her 'ban the burqa' bill, and the Senate refused to let her table it."

He added, "She then went outside and returned wearing a burqa and took her seat. That's when the Greens, Labor, and even the leader of the Liberals all spoke against her and her attire. The President then ruled to remove Senator Hanson from the Senate. They were not happy with her wearing the burqa, yet refused to allow her to introduce her "ban the burqa" bill."
