ATO to Hold Conference on Islamic Architecture in Doha

The Arab Towns Organisation (ATO) is to hold a symposium on Islamic architecture from March 17 to 19 at Doha Marriott Hotel, reported the Gulf Times on Tuesday. Besides speeches, Environmental Health Awards will also be presented on the first day, said the paper. 

Along with the symposium, there will be an environmental and architectural heritage exhibition, Yacoub Y al-Mass, assistant general director of ATO Award, was quoted as telling a press conference on Monday. 

The ATO groups some 400 towns, cities and national associations throughout the Arab countries for the purposes of technical cooperation and exchanges of experience, notably in the fields of urban planning and design and preservation of the cultural heritage. It also facilitates dialogue with local government organizations in other regions. Its Secretariat is located in Kuwait – Albawaba.com
