In line with its Emiratisation strategy, Mashreq one of the UAE’s leading Financial Institutions announced the recruitment of the second group of UAE Nationals from the Capital, Abu Dhabi.

Mashreq Al Mustaqbal program recruited ten aspiring UAE Nationals with strong academic performance from the Higher Colleges of Technology and Zayed University. This demonstrates the bank’s continued commitments to the Capital, as this second group of recruits represented Abu Dhabi.

Douglas Becket Head of Retail Banking Group at Mashreq and Ali Moosa, Retail Head, Abu Dhabi & Al Ain, Mashreq met with the new recruits and congratulated them.

Mashreq Emiratisation strategy emphasizes its commitment to training and recruiting Emirati Nationals from across the UAE. Earlier this year, Mashreq recruited 13 Emaratis from Dubai across the bank units. All recruits have undergone extensive training by the bank’s Management Trainee Program ‘Mashreq Al Mustaqbal’ to provide them with necessary leadership and management skills tools.

Mariam Al Ali, Emaratisation Manager, Mashreq said, “Mashreq’s Emiratisation strategy is to recruit and empower UAE Nationals to take up leadership positions in the bank. We are committed to nurturing talented individuals and providing them with as many opportunities possible to contribute to developing their careers. As a leading UAE financial institution, hiring UAE National has always been a strategic objective for Mashreq.”

The Emaratisation strategy of Mashreq is in line with government efforts to raise awareness and encourage localization across the banking sector. The new recruits are mandated to undergo an intensive training program that is customized for their respective roles and offers a combination of induction tools, product knowledge, system training, customer service and other soft skills.

Mashreq has developed dedicated programs to be able to recruit, train, develop and retain UAE Nationals employees. One of the various programs is Mashreq Al Mustaqbal program, which targets fresh graduates with high potential. Al Forsa Program and College Work Placement Program are flexible programs designed to cater to undergraduates.

Mashreq achieved 41% Emaratisation across all its units in the bank, making it one of the financial institutions with the highest ratios of UAE national recruits.
