ALBAWABA - Burger King fired worker Ariana Hamilton, who went viral after confronting an Israeli diner and screaming out loud, "Free Palestine".
Earlier, the Burger King employee in Pennsylvania clashed with a customer during a food order after he identified himself as "Israeli" by saying "Free Palestine", according to video footage, company statements, and the former employee's own account.
The incident happened when Rami Feinstein, an Israeli-American musician wearing a Star of David necklace, was ordering a burger for his family at Breinigsville Burger King.
Hamilton asked where he was from, and Feinstein answered that he was from Israel; the employee said, "Free Palestine".
The man recorded the incident after asking her to repeat what she said, and she did.
On the other hand, Burger King commented on the incident in a statement: "We are very sorry to hear about your experience. Burger King is a place where everyone should feel welcome, respected and free from discrimination. We have no tolerance for antisemitism, hate, or discrimination of any kind. We are working with the franchisee that owns and operates this restaurant to address this situation."
Later on, the American fast food restaurant chain fired Ariana Hamilton over her "Free Palestine" remark, as confirmed by the former employee on her account.
After the incident, Hamilton started a crowdfunding campaign to support herself after losing her job, saying the money would be used for rent, bills and groceries.
The campaign has so far raised nearly $100,000, according to the Jerusalem Post.
